Start with style
Each style of photography is so different and will speak to completely different families. Some photography uses studio lights and tightly wrapped up newborns, some will utilise props and outfits. My style of photography is an extension of my own style in my life, I am drawn to calm and natural colours, simple, realistic posing and tender loving moments.
You will be able to tell which style speaks to you more, what fits your family and your home the best.

Google reviews are a really easy way to find out what other families experience with each different photographer is like. How they communicated, how they made them feel, if they were comfortable with your baby, if they even made your partner feel comfortable in the session.
Remember that your experience matters just as much as the end result!
Ask about their process
A great photographer will make it clear what the process is, from initial enquiry to your gallery delivery. You should be able to easily find out what the session will look like, what to expect, any hidden costs, delivery timeframes and any other questions you might have.
Timing is everything
Newborn sessions are ideally done in the first ten to fourteen days of life. This means you need to book during your pregnancy, typically between twenty and thirty weeks to secure your spot. The best photographers in Kent get booked up months in advance, so earlier is always better.
